A DESIGN PROBLEM 05

In the event organized by ArcheThink, Global designers Mehmet Mehmetalioğlu, Tuğçe Rizeli Bilgi and Koray Duman shared with the participants the challenges they faced in their design processes and the solutions they developed for these challenges. Mehmet Mehmetalioğlu discussed how we can reduce loneliness and isolation with the power of design with his presentation “The Door Opening to Loved Ones”. Tuğçe Rizeli Bilgi, with her presentation titled “The Perception Game”, discussed the eûect of indoor and outdoor boundaries on our perception and design approaches that blur these boundaries. Koray Duman, in his presentation “Reaching for Space”, shared the transformation of MoMa PS1 in Long Island City and the design ideas developed to make this space a public space again.

A Design Problem offers a platform to push boundaries and redefine what is possible. It focuses on the challenges encountered in the design process. Each design includes different approaches and innovative solutions unique to the designer.

A Design Problem aims to demystify the design process by focusing on a challenge faced by the designer on their journey. 3 different speakers go deep into the design world with 3 problems and 3 solutions. Speakers share the problems they face in their design processes and their creative solutions to these problems in 15 minutes and in accordance with the determined template.
